Dr. Miller and Dr. Shabo graduated from Illinois College of Optometry, located in the Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago. They met during the first week of clinic and started a friendship that would later form the foundation of their marriage, family, values, and business.
After graduation, Dr. Shabo grew her clinical practice in and around the Chicagoland area. Dr. Miller further continued his clinical training and completed a residency in ocular disease at the Hershel “Woody’ Williams VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.
Dr. Shabo’s experience working in commercial and private practices helped determine that owning a private practice would allow her to provide an enhanced patient experience. She would later purchase an established practice in the Village of River Grove. A small village just west of Chicago, River Grove has a sense of community and family, characteristics that they found important to incorporate into the mission and core values of the practice.
“Like many areas of healthcare, optometry is constantly evolving. We want our practice to evolve alongside these changes because there is more to eye care and vision than just glasses and contact lenses. We want patients to receive the best possible eye care by using the latest technologies and advancements in the field of optometry.”
